Scriptopia Terms of Service
Terms for accounts, AI creation, Breakdown Lab, public-script learning resources, subscriptions and User Content.
Effective date: 2026-10-06
1. Acceptance and scope
By creating an account, continuing registration, purchasing a subscription or using Scriptopia (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and incorporated policies. If you use the Service for a team, you represent that you can accept these Terms on its behalf.
Scriptopia (“we,” “us” or “our”) is operated by an independent developer as an individual. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, form the agreement between you and us.
2. Accounts, eligibility and security
Keep your account information accurate and protect your credentials. Do not sell, rent or share accounts to evade plan, Credit, referral or security restrictions. You must satisfy any applicable age or guardian-consent requirements.
3. Service and AI output
Scriptopia provides screenwriting, adaptation, Script Doctor, continuity, storyboard, Breakdown Lab, curated studies, a script-resource library, Trending Charts and related AI tools. AI output may be inaccurate, biased or unsuitable for production. You are responsible for reviewing anything you adopt, publish, produce or commercialize. Scriptopia does not guarantee that any script, analysis or suggestion is accurate, producible or commercially successful.
4. User Content and service license
“User Content” includes scripts, novels, outlines, subtitles, video, images, character/project data, prompts and other material you submit. Uploading does not automatically transfer third-party copyrights to Scriptopia. To deliver the Service, you grant Scriptopia and its processors the non-exclusive permissions you can lawfully grant to host, copy, transcode, transcribe, analyze and create technical intermediate results.
5. Breakdown Lab, public scripts and learning resources
Breakdown Lab primarily analyzes material supplied by users. Scriptopia does not promise to source restricted audiovisual works and will not build tools intended to bypass DRM, authentication, CAPTCHAs or other access controls.
Scriptopia may also curate lawfully usable public scripts and learning materials for evaluation, research, case studies or user-learning access. Public accessibility on the Internet is not the same as public-domain status. Full-text hosting is generally limited to Public Domain, Licensed or Creator-authorized material. For modern copyrighted scripts with legitimate public sources, Scriptopia may prefer metadata, structured analysis, limited necessary excerpts and links to legitimate sources instead of mirroring full files. Before any internal training or other secondary use, we separately confirm the legal basis and permission scope.
When you upload material, you represent that you have the rights, permissions or other lawful basis necessary for the requested processing. Responsibility for unlawful uploads is handled under applicable law without excluding obligations that Scriptopia cannot lawfully disclaim.
6. Data Contribution and improvement
We do not use your scripts or other User Content to train AI models. To keep the Service reliable and improve quality, we may use records of how AI features perform, such as whether a candidate was applied or rejected, error rates and quality ratings. If we offer Data Contribution for model training in the future, it will be optional and off by default, and it will start only after you give separate, explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Data Contribution is separate from public display and never publishes private scripts or video to other users.
7. Platform IP and output
Scriptopia or its licensors retain rights in the software, interface, brand, analytical frameworks, taxonomies, templates, algorithms, Prompt Registry, database structure and original platform materials. Rights in AI output may depend on inputs, third-party material and local law.
8. Prohibited conduct
- Evading plan, Credit, rate, security or payment controls;
- using the Service for any unlawful, infringing or fraudulent purpose, abusive automation, bulk registration or referral-code arbitrage;
- uploading malicious code, or attacking, reverse-engineering or disrupting the Service;
- using Scriptopia to bypass access controls for restricted audiovisual works;
- impersonating others, falsifying rights claims or submitting malicious complaints.
9. Subscriptions, Credits and payment
Prices, monthly Credits, seats and entitlements for Free, Writer, Pro and Studio are shown at checkout. Studio is billed per seat; Enterprise uses a sales-led custom contract. Annual plans are billed annually while included Credits refresh monthly. Rollover and top-up expiry follow the purchase page; refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. AI and Breakdown jobs consume Credits based on model, tokens, caching, ASR, visual processing, runtime and depth.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles payment processing, receipts and invoices, applicable sales taxes, and refund and order inquiries. Purchases are also subject to the Paddle Buyer Terms.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically on the cycle you choose (monthly or annual) until you cancel. You can cancel at any time under Settings → Billing; cancellation stops future renewals and you keep access until the end of the current paid period.
10. Referrals and promotions
Referral codes, first-purchase discounts and bilateral rewards are server-configured. Self-referral, fake-account farming and refund/chargeback abuse are prohibited. Rewards may be held for risk review and reversed through the Credit Ledger where appropriate.
11. Trending Charts and third-party data
Trending Charts are for discovery and do not mean Scriptopia owns the underlying media. Heat, favorites and views can use different sources and definitions. Missing metrics may display “—”, and we show source and update information.
12. Copyright and rights complaints
Rights holders may contact copyright@scriptopia.ai with identification of the work, evidence of rights, the disputed location, contact details and required statements. Scriptopia may restrict access, remove content, preserve evidence, notify users and process appeals as required by applicable law.
13. Suspension and termination
Serious unlawful conduct, infringement, fraud, attacks, prolonged non-payment or repeated violations may result in feature restrictions, suspension or termination, subject to applicable law; projects, raw media, billing and audit records are then handled under the Privacy Policy. You can cancel your subscription, export data or request account deletion in Settings.
14. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. No limitation excludes liability that applicable law does not permit Scriptopia to exclude or limit.
15. Changes and contact
Terms may be updated for product, legal or business changes. For material changes, we will notify you in the product or by email and ask you to accept the updated Terms where required.
